Title: Syncing playback between client/client or client/server
Post by: enigman on February 14, 2010, 12:16:42 pm
Hi,

Can anyone tell me if v14 of MC allows for playback syncing between multiple clients or at least between a client and the server?

What I would like to do is have multiple sound systems (or TVs) hooked up to multiple computers, each running a copy of MC, and have the whole thing playback the same playlist, in sync, on each machine?

I'd like to set up a house-wide system where I can play the same music all over the house, but without having to run wires *everywhere* from a single central source. Much easier just to set up a few cheap netbooks with wireless here and there...

Possible?

Thanks!

Have a play with the "Sync to Other Zones" option, I only had a quick look but at present it seems to start the playlist on each PC not keep it in sync but there may be a way using this.

Hi jmone

I'm also interested in something similar like Enigman mentioned. Could you please explain were in MC I can find the option "Sync to Other Zones". I have right clicked under Playlist and looked under Tool/Options but haven’t found it.

Thanks in advance

OK, I'll have a look at this - how do you set up zones with multiple client machines?

Can anyone provide more details on this feature?

Thanks!
