Title: MJ12 to Apple Airport . . . Possible? SUCCESS!!!!!
Post by: OzGrant on February 18, 2010, 08:32:26 pm
Hi there everyone!

I just installed Apple's Airport Extreme and Express to smarten up the house .... but having to use iTunes in order to take advantage of the wireless audio connection is NOT a smart move away from MJ12!  I was amazed to find how primitive iTunes is compared to the nice customised set-up I had with MJ.

Does anyone know how to make use of the Airport wireless system from MJ12 ... (or perhaps MC14 if I need to move up) ?

Preferably not via yet more hardware and networking devices   :'(

Thanks!

Grant.

I am having same dilemma. The only thing I've found so far is software called Airfoil by Rogue Amoeba. I paid about $25 for the download although there is a free trial. It worked fine for a while then started dropping the signal. If you try it  and it works better for you let me know. Maybe I missed something in the configuration or have too much interference. Right now Itunes is doing great connecting wirelessly to my DAC.
Let me know if you find anything else. Good luck!

Hi again.

Success!

The Airfoil software is working a treat.  The version I downloaded is Airfoil for Windows 2.7.5.0 .... So far so good.

Thanks for that great lead - I appreciate it.

Airfoil is a must for airport express owners... it makes the device usable.

Do these still work with MC15?
