Title: sound quality -is it my player?
Post by: R.Mathis on June 30, 2002, 06:28:04 pm
When I burn an MP3 file from my computer to a CDR, it plays back just fine on my computer. When I play it on my portable player (RCA CD-MP3 player model RP2415)it sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks. What am I doing wrong?

Was the song you burned by Alvin and the Chipmunks?  If so, then whats the problem?

Are you saying that the file plays on your computer from the burned CD just fine or that the file plays just fine from the HD?

Some players do funny things to MP3 files that are at less than 64Kbps?  Is that the case?

Funny Hank, but ....

R.Mathis
That's the first I heard of that one!
Have you tried any other player besides yer PC and portable?  If so, do ya still get Alvin?
I know that you sometimes have to be carefull of the type of CD that you use to burn your CDAs.  Some CDs won't work well in conventional players, and CDRWs won't work at all.  Make sure that your CDR CD is rated for audio recording.

Gotcha Callithumpian,
Thanks.  My bad. I misread the CDR as CDA.

Next time. I'll have to try reading when things aren't so blurred!
