Title: 14.0.140 Failure of Import to accept external tag frame deletion

I find that if an external program deletes a tag frame e.g. ID3 Genre from a track in the MC Library, MC Library Import fails to take the new null value, keeping the original value... even if I manually delete the track from the library first. If I exit MC, relaunch and reimport, the problem is solved. Can anyone suggest a less extreme solution? Thanks.
