Title: Anyway to prevent MC forced version upgrade?
Post by: chrisjj on February 23, 2010, 09:44:25 pm
... short of disconnecting from the internet?

MC 14.0.140 just forced an upgrade to .147 which here works less well than the original. I want to return to .140.

This is a trial. Does the paid-for licence let me stay on a chosen version?

Thanks.

Under Tools/Options/Startup there is an option to check for updates, just uncheck this and you won't be told to update.

Thanks! Shame there is not just an option to prevent the forced update.

What do you find particularly bothersome about .147?

What do you find particularly bothersome about .147?

Sync marks many more of my tracks as Duplicate, preventing them transferring to the device.

I can see from the excellent change documentation that there are many improvements in .147. I do not mean to suggest it works less well overall for everyone. Just for me, given that the only features I'm using are library import and device sync.

Hmm...and I sync daily sometimes involving hundreds of tracks and have never had a hint of "duplicate" anywhere...what exactly are you seeing and where...?

Are your tracks WMA Lossless? All mine are.

"Status: Duplicate" on some but not all tracks in the Device view.

Another user has had the problem: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=56222.0
