As MJ does everything now, is it necessary to keep Windows Media Player around? It just takes up disk space.
I've looked around for an uninstall for WMP, but can't seem to find anything. Does anyone know how to uninstall WMP?
Thanks for the help,

You need Windows Mediaplayer if you want Media Jukebox to stream windows streams or videos

But do not work with all Windows

Hi Zevele10,
Thanks for the info. I am running Windows ME and Windows Media Player 7.01.00.3055.

If you have ME,here we go
go to www.definition-software.com
and download the software
After install you have to run it from control panel
You can remove System restore-movie maker and change for player 6
Keep in mind that if you remove System restore and have programs installed with it on your computer, you need to 'reput' it before uninstalling the program
Not a big deal, just check the case and rebot
Most of the time System restore is not working anyway,so why to keep it
depending of 'the nature of Windows' check the first pop up window inside the program....

Thanks for the help Zevele10. I'll give it a try.

Are there any disadvantages to having WMP 6 instead of WMP 7.1 ??
If not, then does this also work for WinXP systems?
I am even less comfortable with WMP on my system after info like this:

NO,this software is only for ME
I cannot tell you if i miss something not having 7.1 but 6.4
To this day,my answer is no.
If you have XP,you must have player 8.
There is much more than security in the game with XP and player 8
Anyway, look like every month the net is less and less a place worth to be.
I am just stealing songs by thousands now and one day will just change for Linux and few hours of 56 kps connection a month.
As far as i can read i am not the only one with this feeling
