Title: Library Server Question
Post by: The Mastermind on February 24, 2010, 08:03:47 am
Whilst trying to get a fix for poor performance with my server and videos I read this:

"Library Server works across the Internet."

Does this mean my bandwidth is being used?

I can't see why it would be but now I have a nagging doubt and need reassurance.  ::)

It doesn't do anything unless you're using it or you've given the address to someone else who uses MC to access your library.  Block the port you're using on the router if you're not sure.  Library Server can also use a password.

I am using it between my laptop and desktop right here at home. I had to unblock a port to get it to work in the first place.

Are you saying that will be using bandwidth?

It won't affect your connection to the Internet.
