Title: Restart MC when attaching handheld
Post by: bennyd on February 26, 2010, 12:49:03 am
I have a small issue since a long time, time to mention it:

On a fresh booted PC, MC14 is started, when I plugin my handheld (Android device), it is not recognised by MC.

If I exit MC then start MC again, the device will show up.

It looks like this is happening with all "external drives" configured as devices in MC.

This is no issue to restart MC when plugging in my android, but  now I'm using Media Server as well, so when exiting MC, it doesn't really exit anymore.
So the only way is then to kill MC via Task Manager and then restart it.

Is there any hidden refresh or detect function that I can use to detect my Android or other external drives when plugging in without restarting MC ?

I'm using latest build of MC14 on a PC With Windows 7 (had it with Vista as well)

I see the same issue with Media Center 14.0.165 and my HTC Desire HD running Android 2.2.  Restarting MC and killing media server also fixes this for me.

Does anyone know whether MC15 fixes this relatively minor issue?
