Title: Gastric Bypass
Post by: KingSparta on February 28, 2010, 11:33:57 am
I have Been On A Diet Since I Was 15 Or So When I Was On The Wrestling Team In High School. When I Was In The Army Running 4 To 6 Miles A Day Kept The Weight Off. Since I Have Been A Manager For The Last 14 Years And Work 12 Hours A Day, Along With The Mounting Medical Problems, Substance Abuse (Alcohol).

I Am A Mess.

Tuesday I Am Seeing A Dr. About A Gastric Bypass Operation.

I Am Hoping The Insurance Company Will Say Yes.

I Am Still Abstaining From Alcohol, But I Have Gained 10 Or More Pounds In The Last Year Since I Stopped Drinking.

I Know 6 People Who Have Had This Operation And All Have Done Remarkably Well And Have Lost Over 100 lbs.

I Guess We Will See What Happens On Tuesday.

Fingers Crossed...

My sister dropped a couple hundred pounds this way.  She is slowly putting them back on, however.

I Am Still Abstaining From Alcohol,
Congratulations!  You must be coming up on two years by now.  That's a fantastic achievement.

I hope you're proud of that accomplishment.

How about moving the fridge to the toolshed.  I know it's cold enough here that I won't go there often.

Nice job on the 16 months, King!!!!

I know a chef who had gastric bypass, and he did lose weight, but he is unable to eat much now.

As with anything, there are advantages and disadvantages. Weigh them carefully.

As I think about this a neighbor of my sister lost all her weight this way.  If I remember correctly her 13 or 14 yo daughter found her.  Be sure you need it before you do it.

After I Talked To The Dr. Today I Asked The Nurse How Does It Looked.

Basically She Stated I Have More Than The Required Problems.

My boss was telling me tonight that i can't take off to have this operation.

I know I need less stress in my life.

If I Was Not Married I Would Prob Go Out In The Woods To Live Some Were Far Away From People.

I Told Him I Know Cliff's Son

I hope he doesn't flunk you.  I wouldn't volunteer any more information unless I had to.

Well I Was Open, And Only Held Back 10% Of My Life History.

I Did Ask Him What They Are Looking For.

One Of The Things Is To Make Sure The Client Will Seek Help When It Is Needed, And To Follow The Dr's Directions.

There Was About 600 Questions On A Few Tests.

It Reminded Me Of The Test I Had To Take Before I Went To Flight School.

There Was Also A Two Page Test That Gaged Your IQ
