Title: must I load iTunes for 2nd gen iPod to work with MC14 on Win 7

So, the only Apple program I have loaded on my PC at present is Quicktime.  It is new, running Win 7 (32), and I'd prefer to not load iTunes if possible.  I have not plugged my 2nd Gen 30Gb iPod into it yet.  Is there any issue with just plugging it in?  Will Win 7 recognize and MC 14 synch and interface with it, without iTunes being installed first? Or, are there just drivers I can load and avoid the bloatware that is iTunes?

Connecting the device won't hurt anything. Just do so and try to sync it.
