Title: M2TS Hi Def format won't play
Post by: LarryASilva on April 02, 2010, 05:20:35 pm
I have a bug to report in the new version 14.0.161.  Hope I am in the right area.
This version will play video files in the .M2TS H iDef format recorded by my Hauppauge 1212PVR.  However, one cannot skip forward or backward in the video.  When one attempts to skip forward or backward, the video starts over.
Other software video players, including Nero and VLC, play these files flawlessly with FFD and RWD functions.  My Seagate HD Theater hardware player also plays these files with no problems.  Of course, I prefer to play videos in Media Center!  Thank you.

M2TS is a container format:

The format inside is probably being played with a bad DirectShow filter on your PC.

Try reading the DirectShow guide on our wiki and consider installing CCCP.  It usually solves problems liek this.
