I've just upgraded to MC15 after using MC13 happily for a while. While playing back divx/avi files, MC13 used to automatically go to fullscreen when opening the files. I cant get 15 to do this. I've tried all the settings without success. When it plays, it only plays in a standard window. when i double click it it minimises to the small window on the bottom left hand side. If i double click this, it will go to full screen. Thanks in advance.

Try the MC options at General/Behavior.

I think that's a DirectShow filter problem. Jim, it sounds to me like it is trying to go fullscreen (which is the default behavior, after all) but that the playback filter is doing that weird thing where it plays in a frame instead of fullscreen. Because when you double click on it, it goes to the Action Window, which means that MC thought it was already in fullscreen mode.
What playback software (filters) are you using to decode those files? A current build of FFDSHOW will probably fix it.

Sorry for the delay in replying, been on holiday. I am using Klite mega codec pack newest build and have also downloaded the newest build of mc15. Still same situation re fullscreen playback. Have also looked at the various video options without success. Many thanks

Check which filters are actually used during playback. Right-click in video window and select DirectShow Filters. "Copy graph info to clipboard" allows you to post the graph info here.

Thanks for the graph. It look perfect.
Now the most likely cause would be between FFDShow video decoder and Haali Video renderer. You can try selecting a different video renderer and see if that improves the situation. If that does not, check the version of FFDShow.
-
Are you playing files from within MC's library, or from windows explorer? If the latter, I see this behaviour too - the screen is maximised but still has a frame. All you need to do is double click on the title frame to go directly to fullscreen, without the need to go to the action window intermediate.
-
Unfortunately, no success using a different renderer. I usually play back files from windows explorer rather than the library. i find this much easier. If i play it back from the library, all works as it should.i.e. automatically in full screen. I am using the klite mega codec pack 5.9.0 which apparently includes revision 3361 of ffdshow. Thanks for all the replies so far.

In that case, I think what you're seeing is a new 'feature' introduced with MC15 and maybe some later builds of MC14.
