Title: Windows 2000 Professional and MJ
Post by: Scott on June 28, 2002, 10:33:50 am
Are there known problems with installation of MJ on Windows 2000 Professional.  I've recently done a clean install of Win2000 and have not been able to get MY working properly.  When the program opens the interface has a strange black border and background and the buttons (the few that are visible) don't work.  I need to use the ctrl|PLS|alt|PLS|del to get out of the program and close it down.  Any suggestions?

Hi Scott,

I use w2k professional and I've never had any problem with MJ.

Your symptoms reminds me of the problem people experience when they install as Admninistrator and then use it with as another one.

MJ does not handle that gracefully within the installer..

If this is what you have done, the easiest way around it is to re-install for each user (otherwise you could copy the JRiver registry entries between users... there have been quite a few threads about that in the past)

Claudio

Thanks.  I think that's exactly what happened.  I installed as a user and it seems to be functioning correctly.

Hmm, sounds like a fairly easy bug to fix.
Why not just have MJ install into the machine settings then rather than the individual users registry settings??
I'm pretty sure this is something that can be done fairly easily.
