Title: BPM Tagging?

I've never used this column in MC but a friend I've sent tracks to has noticed that the field has been filled in. Does MC work out BPM data and add it automatically? If not how come this data is tagged in my library - even for tracks I have recorded from my own 45s??

BPM is calculated along side Replay Gain during Audio Analysis.
