Run into a few issues trying to playback video using MC 15.0.17
1) First issue is with video files with the MKV extention.
Media Centered encountered errors while trying to play the last several files. Please make sure that the path in your media library points to the right location.
Error details:
DirectShow: An operation failed due to a certification failure. Code=0x80040295
The file is in location indicated by MC
2) Second issue is when trying to play videos files with MP4 & MPG extentions.
Media player indicates that it is installing a downloaded component and then it shuts down a restarts the PC
Looks like its trying to install FFDShow
I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium SP2.
Thanks,
Mark

Do you have a Matroska splitter filter? It can be Haali Media Splitter or Gabest Matroska Splitter.
This wiki entry (http://wiki.jrmediacenter.com/index.php/DirectShow_Playback_Guide) will provide additional info.
If you still have problem, email me a log file. yaobing at jriver dot com

It may have downloaded FFDShow, or MP4 Splitter. It should not shutdown and restart PC. There may be some other problems with your system. Are you able to play the files after the computer restarted?

I've not installed these separately - I've taken a breif look at the URL -do I just need to install the CCCP then?

No - just repeats the same each time.
Thanks,

Yes. CCCP is a good package that includes filters that are needed for almost all video playback needs.

OK - CCCP installed and all the movie formats can be played via MC

I am having a problem playing m4a music files in version 15.0.20. Same error message as above: DirectShow: An operation failed due to a certification failure. Code=0x80040295.
