Title: TV episode number in theatre view
Post by: justsomeguy on April 14, 2010, 12:58:21 am
I'm adding my TV shows to my library.  All video file names follow a ([Series] - [Season]x[Episode] - [Name]), like (Burn Notice - 3x01 - Friend and Family).  Thing I'm having trouble with is for example in theater view, it only shows the thumbnail for the episode along with the name.  With this I have no way of knowing the proper episode order as they don't appear to be sorted in that way.  It would be nice to have it display the episode number along with the title and thumbnail.

Does anyone else use this in this manner?  Any suggestions?

Ok I found out you can add additional text fields in the thumbnail views and was able to add [Episode] number but that only appears to show in standard view, in theater view the extra field doesn't show with the thumbnails.  I also discovered I could add episode to the right of the thumbnails in theater view and figured out how to get the thumbnails sorted by episode.  So this actually is workable but it seems when I setup a customized view and add the [Episode] to the thumbnail text that is should show in theater view as well, but on mine it does not.

MC is still green on tv shows, I hope this aspect is on "to-do" list by devs.

What I do is in theater view i have an external program option to call Media Portal + Streamed MP skin.

There is a view for standard view basically it is

[Series]
[Season]
Expression = [Episode]-[Name]

View by Series Thumbnails (Category View in MC15)
