Title: is it possible to embed a Pix01 gallery into a forum post?
Post by: JustinChase on April 20, 2010, 04:24:26 pm
I want to share some photos, and thought it might be easier to just embed the Pix01 slideshow into the post, like a photo, rather than embed each photo separately?

it seems it's pretty common for YouTube videos, but youtube has code to facilitate

can this be done?

If so, can someone walk me thru it?

thanks.

In your e-mail from pixie, you should have a short link you could use.  It expands to something like this:

http://www.pix01.com/gallery/B6318F5F-4769-4385-B3CA-EE27B9BD15F9/Garden_Project/

If you choose a large image, you'll have a link like this (which displays the image on a pix01 web page ) :

http://www.pix01.com/gallery/B6318F5F-4769-4385-B3CA-EE27B9BD15F9/Garden_Project/bigpage.html?image=789663792_orig1.jpg#

Trim it down (removing bigpage.html?image= ) so you have this (just the image):

http://www.pix01.com/gallery/B6318F5F-4769-4385-B3CA-EE27B9BD15F9/Garden_Project/789663792_orig1.jpg#

Thanks Jim.  That gets me the large version of the image, and I can link that photo perfectly.

I was wondering if there was a way I could link the whole gallery, with forward/backward buttons also; everything.  so they would just get the gallery page inside a smaller window, embedded in the forum post, so they didn't have to click to go to see the photo, and to not have to link every photo individually.

it seems there is now common code for linking youtube videos like this, so the player window just sits in the post, just like a photo does, but with moving video.  I was just hoping the slideshow could be done in a similar fashion.

unfortunately, I'm not very versed in forum coding or options.
