I have a calibrated monitor that I'm making adjustments to the pics and they look good, print well but when they show up on my tv from jrmc they are very, very vibrant. Too much actually. They are jpeg.
I have tried both optimizing image on and off and they are effectively the same. Is there any other setting that I can adjust to calm that down?

I'd check your TV or maybe the video card adjustment.
It's common for TVs to over-saturate and over-contrast everything by default. For example, the subtle gradient in Media Center's tree with Noire often shows up as pure white.

All other things are fine like video so I don't want to adjust my global video card settings which would then dull a good video image. It's more than likely my tv but I was just wondering if there was some setting in MC that you could turn down the vibrance for image playback or some sort of registry tweak.

When you're watching the movie in full screen Display View, try the up and down arrows. They cycle through settings you can change.
It could also be the DirectShow filters you're using. Check under MC options for File Types.

Is your PC monitor calibrated?
