Is it possible to change settings to use the mouse wheel to control volume ?

If the mouse is over the volume slider, the mouse wheel does control the volume.

Sorry, but there's no way to do this.  The mouse wheel controls what the mouse is over, like lists, position sliders, etc.

There may be third-party programs that can install global mouse hooks (system wide even) that do actions you want on any mouse activity.

I'd think that frustrating when you go to scroll a list and the volume changes...

MPC-HC does zooming with mousewheel during playback. So he could mean only while in Display view, which currently has zooming in/out assigned to the mousewheel.
