Title: Gifs?

i think it would be nice if mc would play gif files. its media and not too obscure.
or can it and is there a setting im missing.
or is there a logical reason why mc cant play them.

It will play gif files.  Gif is one of the image filetypes.  Mine is set to "automatic".

It might not play animated gif files.

animated gif is just an other gif and mc does not play them.  :)
never did. and since im here it has been requested every version. so i thought it would be cool to be the first one in 15. 8)
but more seriously, i think it is a bit presumptuous to have mc setting file association to gifs where it does not know how to handle them. seeing that windows viewer ,websites and everything else can handle them, i think its far belows mc standard to not know how to handle them and ignored this fact so long..  :)

i just hope it will be on the list again, on the long list, somewhere at the bottom will be fine.

Yeah! Animated gifs are a web standard. Be careful or Apple will drop support for MC! :) Oh, wait...

Animated GIFs support is a feature request which has always been very dear to my heart. I fully add my support.
