Hi!
I would be convenient to have toolbar buttons for selected library views like Audio, Images:Albums etc.
-
Tabs take the place of this for me now but I do add the Navigation toolbar button which you can propagate with favorites and it works like a drop-down menu.
-
See this page in the Wiki on Navigation & Favorites: http://wiki.jrmediacenter.com/index.php/Navigation_sub-menu
Basically, you can add a toolbar drop down button that links to your favorite locations and views. Good luck!

This is close but not exactly what I want. I'm looking for workaround for the Start view which could be disabled in MC12 but this feature disappeared in MC13 and, unfortunately, never came back :(

Start can still be disabled under Options - General - Features

No, it can't. This option only hides Start in tree.

But if you combine the above with Options > Startup > Startup Interface > Location: <anything other than Start> then you'll never see the start page again, right?

This option disappeared in MC 14. I didn't look for it in later versions. Unfortunately it doesn't work for new tabs in split (or I can't find this option)

Hmmm...I hadn't noticed that. I keep the same tabs open across sessions.
I don't know of a way to avoid the start page upon opening a new tab. I wonder if this behavior is on purpose or something that slipped through the cracks...

I don't know, but now Alt-3 and toolbar button "navigation" are good enough
