Hello,
if i play one file there comes a big distortion or the app crashes.
Normal FLAC with no HiRes over WASAPI is perfect, sounds really better as over ASIO.
Same files played over Foobar and asio4all works normal.
Same Files over ASIO are OK
Reason for buying Media Center was to play all my files in the perfect way over WASAPI including "Play from Memory
instead of drive.
Same fault in MC 14
System: Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit / Intel E6850, Asus Board, 2GB RAM

I'm not perfectly clear when you get the distortion.
Are you saying the problem is ONLY when using WASAPI with a 24-bit file?
The same 24-bit file plays correctly with ASIO?
Have you tried toggling the 24-bit data package option in WASAPI option in Options > Audio > Output mode settings...?
Thanks.

!!! Solution is to switch on 24bit over 32 data package.
Hm, no knowledge, if this reduces quality...
Changing totally to kernel streaming works not.

Glad you got it working.
The option makes no audio quality difference -- it's just two different ways to deliver the exact same 24-bit data.
Unfortunately different cards and DACs work differently, and we haven't found a reliable catch-all method to know the format the card requires. This is why we have the option.
