Title: DLNA Phones
Post by: JimH on May 27, 2010, 07:04:29 am
Acer just announced the Acer Stream (http://androidcommunity.com/acer-stream-gets-official-amoled-1ghz-and-hdmi-20100527/), an Android phone with features similar to the Google Nexus One.

It is said to support DLNA and UPnP.  It also has an HDMI port (the mini kind).

It appears that the new Sprint HTC EVO 4G will also support DLNA.

Another reason I'm happy I pre-ordered one :)

Good.  I hope you'll let us know how it works.

Even without DLNA, MC can stream to an Android now.  Last night, I used my Android phone (Nexus) to link MC and my receiver (all within about 2 feet of each other, but still amazing).

Yeah, it really is amazing.  The ability to switch tracks, change volume, pause, etc from my phone while working in the garden or pool and heard thru the patio speakers is true quality of life goodness!!  Especially with the wife able to enjoy TV inside at the same time; fantastic.

I can't wait to test the new phone, and you'll get lots of feedback about my results :)
