I asked this before but probably wasn't too clear. Allow me to try again:
Why are the V8 updates posted on Interact not available in "check for update"?
Is there something special, different or ... ? with the versions on Interact?
Are people who aren't addicted to Interact missing out?

My guess is that they are mini-beta versions, and when the folks at MJ are happy with it, then they release it to the general public on their download page.  They probably don't want unsuspecting users downloading a beta by accident.
