Title: Bug: Remove Duplicates cleared entire playlist
Post by: mgb on July 18, 2010, 06:42:52 pm
I had created Normal Playlist with over 1000 files from many different albums.  Since I had been dragging and dropping for a while, I wanted to make sure I had not introduced any duplicates.  I brought the playlist to the front and pressed the 'Remove Duplicates' button, and the entire playlist was cleared - not a single entry remained.  It was depressing  :(

This happened once on MC 15.0.73.0.  I've been afraid to hit the button since.

MC makes automatic backups.  You might try restoring one.  File/Library/Restore.

It's nice to know that I can backup the library and restore it.   Regardless, Remove Duplicates is broke.

I can't reproduce this.  It seems to be working properly for me.

Any hints for reproducing it?  Thanks.

For me, it happened after using the 'send to play list' content menu multiple times, I then looked at the playlist.  I think I pressed the button twice in quick succession.

Not sure what else I can provide.

Maybe you could update to build 80, and see if you can reproduce.  We haven't been able to get it to happen to us.

Let us know what you find.  Thanks.
