Title: Performer Store downloads onto IPod Classic
Post by: tab888 on August 03, 2010, 06:55:03 am
Please help. Just discovered MC Performer Store and it looks really great. Can download songs/albums onto PC and play them. Can't load downloaded files to my handheld however (iPod Classic 80Gb). Could this be a file type issue (although I thought MC converted files to mp3 format to download to handheld). Error reads "subscription tracks not supported by this device". Maybe it is a digital rights issue. Is there a solution for a novice at this stuff?

To use the subscription with a portable device, you need a device that's compatible.  iPod isn't.  You would need a "PlaysForSure" type device, sometimes called Win7 compatible.  The files are Windows Media, protected with DRM.  Most major manufacturers offer this type of device now.

To play on an iPod, you'd need to purchase MP3 files.

Sorry this is difficult.  It's not our decision.

Purchased downloads are MP3.

Streams are WM with DRM.

Subscription downloads (not purchases) are WM with DRM.
