Title: DLNA and sorting
Post by: park on August 04, 2010, 09:32:17 am
I have to admit to having only played with plugplayer on the iphone, but it seems to me that one of the big disadvantages of using a dlna controller to control a MC device is that when you get down to the file level there's no way to see the tracks in track order (assuming the album sort order was set to anything but default).

Infact, with plugplayer, even when you have the sorting of albums set to something like "Recently imported" it lists them alphabetically. Hope this is just a plugplayer thing.

Would the new j.River ID device controlled through the webremote webpage handle sorting better?

It must me a plug player thing assuming the server views are set up to put the tracks in order. I've use m-connect and it is fine. Downside to using DLNA controller is when the device sleeps (iPhone etc.) the next track is not played. I swtched to web remote and much better as a "remote control"
