Title: click 'd' to jump to 'd' keywords in pane tagging mode

When in pane tagging, is there a way to quickly navigate to items beginning with the letter 'd' in the keywords pane, for example, while remaining in tagging mode?  When I have something selected in the list and am in the process of selecting keywords to tag, hitting a keyboard key (such as 'd') automatically quits tagging mode and goes into select mode.
