Title: Will MC 15 support iPod Classic 120GB?
Post by: ralescio on August 30, 2010, 09:18:17 am
I am always suspicious of updated programs that may not support older tech equipment. My current version of Media Center is 12.0.267, and for whatever reason, it will not recognize my iPod Classic. In fact, just hooking the iPod to the computer causes MC to 'Not Respond.' All this is getting rather tedious.

So, will I gain full use of this iPod by upgrading? And, which is the best MC version to obtain?

Thanks to anyone who can help.

You could download and test MC15.  It should work with that iPod.

Do you know if this includes the latest firmware for the iPod Classics?  On a related note, does MC15 support the latest hardware version of the iPod Classic (I thought I heard something about a new one being released recently.)  I'm incredibly confused about which iPods are supported by MC15 and which are not, and if it's okay to update them to the latest firmware in order to get the latest features and fixes.  People that know I use JR Media Center asked me about this recently, and I honestly did not know what to tell them.

Thanks for any information on this,

Larry

FWIW: I have the iPod Classic 160GB (Sept. 09). MC15 downloads the music O.K., but the playlist is a bit screwy at the beginning. See my post in this regard. (By the way, MC15 actually displays and has transferred to the iPod more of the artwork than iTunes did! Go figure.) Good luck!
