Hello,
I can use webremote locally. I can use it via dyndns server. I can't seem to be able to use it with webremote.jriver.com.
MC15 says that my server is registered with JRiver and gives me an access code. However, when I try to connect to webremote.jriver.com/AccsessCode MC tells me "Failed to connect to server. Please double-check that the server is running properly". And suggests to connect to (all the below works just fine):
From outside the server's network use this link:
http://67.188.xxx.xxx:52199/WebRemote/
From inside the server's network use this link:
http://192.168.xxx.xxx:52199/WebRemote/
From inside the server's network use this link:
http://192.168.xxx.xxx:52199/WebRemote/
From inside the server's network use this link:
http://169.254.xxx.xxx:52199/WebRemote/
From inside the server's network use this link:
http://192.168.xxx.xxx:52199/WebRemote/
What I am doing wrong? Any ideas?
TIA!

The link works (though it is mis-spelled):
http://webremote.jriver.com/AccsessCode
Try generating a new Access Code. If your IP changes, the old one stops working.
Other than that, it could be firewall related. Try the link from a web browser.
The wiki has an article called "Network Access (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Network_Access)".

Maybe you're entering "Accsesscode" instead of the Access Code that MC generates. Go to Tools/Options/Media Network and under Library Server, ask MC for an Access Code.

Jim - Thanks!
Well...
-- I did re-register and generate new codes a couple of times. Current code is HAPEvC.
-- I did use a correct link e.g. http://webremote.jriver.com/[removed by JimH]
-- The link works but doesn't connect - I can see webremote.jriver scans through all the options I listed in my first post but fails to connect.
-- Among others it tries http://67.188.xx.xxx:52199/WebRemote/ which is the correct "outside" address of my system. It tries and cannot connect. Then it lists the same address as an option to connect manually - if I click on that link - it works.
--> webremote.jriver resolves the address correctly it just fails to _automatically_ redirect to the right place.
In my case, anyway.
-- if it's a firewall problem - what can it be? My XP firewall is disabled. I do use a router but I did set port forward for 52199 (obviously since direct http://67.188.xx.xxx:52199/WebRemote/ link works)
Thanks!

I removed the Access Code above since it gives anyone access.
I tried it and it works for me, so your server side is fine and it is accessible from outside your network. I played C.C. Catch. Maybe you heard.

Yes.. I heard.. : ) Now I am embarrassed by having CC Catch in my collection. My last.fm scrobble is contaminated now. : )
I dunno why but autoredirect doesn't work for me.. Only direct link works. Maybe it's because I'm "inside" my network.. Lemme try it on my cell..
thanks!

I may have been confused. Autodirect didn't work. I had to click on the link.

You see!
Is it supposed to work? I guess so.
