Title: dvd
Post by: france on June 19, 2002, 05:28:10 am
when i try to play a dvd, i get the chapters listed in index form, then when i click on chapter (i pick the file with the most chapters) i get a message: (paraphrasing) "this dvd content is protected by macrovision. this system does not satisfy macrovision requirement. can't continue playing this disc."

(i have powerdvd software in my system and dvds play with no problem.)

also, would be nice (though i know it doesn't) if mj played vcds.

it occured to me that if dvd (and subsequently vcd) worked, mediajukebox would be my home theater. all for 25 bucks! (sans hardware, but who cares)

it's wonderful that mj has such tremendous tech support, it's like being in on a great invention!

Theoretically, you should only see this error message when playing a DVD with Macrovision protection on a computer with a video card (with TV outputs) that does not support Macrovision.
Send me an email at johnt @ jriver.com (without the spaces) and I'll send you a test playback control that might work around the problem.

Thanks,
