Title: iPod Touch gen4 compatibility
Post by: pauls on October 01, 2010, 03:53:51 am
I'm having lots of problems with iTunes freezing etc.  CopyTrans seems to recognize it and work fine but it is limited in functionality.  Unfortunately Media Centre won't even recognize the Touch is plugged in.  Any tips?

Media Center does not support the iPod Touch or other iOS devices.  Apple has actually used encryption and locked this hardware to only work with iTunes.  It is possible to break their encryption (which is what some 3rd party software applications have done), but this means that Apple can re-break the sync ability with each and every firmware update.

JRiver has made the choice not to go that route.  There are some solutions to use MC along with iTunes to allow you to sync to an iOS device.  Check this thread: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=51734.0
