I'm having trouble at emusic also as of today. Just sits and endlessly processes the .rmp files. Nothing get added to the DL list. I would also appreciate assistance. Thanks.
-
It is probably a glitch on the emusic site. I know they are changing servers and technology.
The old .rmp file may now be a .emp file. MJ 8.0.293 should support the new file type, but I'm not sure what they are serving.
Try enabling support for .emp files in MJ under settings/options/file associations. It may or may not work.
-
nope .emp didnt do it
FAILED
NEXT
appreciate the help as always
-
Nothing doing, either albums or single file downloads. .emp selected in file associations.
Sure was worth the wait.

what was worth the wait?

one click album works with FreeAmp
BUT
Near the blue icone to click for get full album is "require FreeAmp"
If you remember was "require FreeAmp or RealJukebox"
They have to put 'or MediaJukebox'
Look like this has to be solve at River\Emusic level
For now,you can download FreeAmp.If just for album one click, get the one on Emusic players page
Small program that will not mess around you computer
If you are 'clean computer addict' download the last one from they page or cnet. When you install it,there is an option 'FreeAmp will backup you system, and reverse it to is initial state when you uninstall FreeAmp'
Beside it ,i do not see much new things,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Just checked this out. For me, it will drop the whole album into the download manager in Freeamp, but where it used to keep an overall progress for the entire queue (25%, 1 of 4 items, 16 MB) now it only keeps track of 1 item at at time, the file it's currently downloading. The rest of the music in the queue comes up as a file size of 0 bytes.
Looks like an Emusic issue to me.
-
Some new content in jazz. Just eye candy, since I can't get to it. Don't see any difference in the GUI, besides the log-in requirement (BPITA) and a little trimming here and there.
Will try FreeAmp, see what happens.

I don't know what they did to that site but I always used download express to download the tracks and now I can't use it anymore. It looks like it operates the same way that mp3.com operates, I'll give it a few days and if it doesn't clear up then I'm cancelling my subscription.
-
Same here,
I'm sure this is just a glitch, but just in case I've send them email to inform them of the problem. The fact that download manager gets connected to a "blah.rmp" file seems to suggest some authentication issues, or a restriction on their end of the clients that they allow to connect. I suggest that everybody that is experiencing the problem contact them , so that the problem gets noticed...
My email to support @ emusic.com :
------------------------------------------------------------
I'm a subscriber to Emusic. I run Win2K, with Internet
Explorer. My mp3 player (and much more) is MediaJukebox. Since you
moved/re-organized your servers, I'm unable to download full albums and
single mp3 files directly from MediaJukebox.. Media Jukebox, as I'm sure you
know, includes a download manager, and supports .rmp file that you still use
for full album downloads (and even .emp for that matter) , but now when I
attempt to download it connects to your site, and then start downloading a
bogus file "blah.mp" (undependently of the album) and then fails.
I understand you are changing server technology and such and I hope this is
just a glitch that will be resolved quickly, but please make Emusic work
again with MJ. I know you have other players/download manager available
(FreeAmp) but I'm not interest in changing player and very passionate about
my MJ. The smooth integration of MJ and Emusic is one of the reason why I
subscribed to your service
Thanks in advance

Thanks, Claudio. If anyone else writes them, please ask them to contact jimh @ jriver.com if they want our assistance.
We will take a look at the problem from our side today.

I emailed emusic Customer Support. JimH - I mentioned your offer of help. I'll report back when I get a response.
-
I did the same as well...strength in numbers.

Ditto

Thanks, but you can call of your dogs now. Nikolay and Matt found out what had changed and we will put out a build later today that should work. It will only be available on Interact for a few days. It fixes other known bugs.
Thanks for reporting this.
-
i also copied Claudio's letter too
and added the contact Jim H.
-
Do not understand that the 'update' will be only on Interact for few day and after?
ANYWAY
You are not on the bottom of a full album download and they speak about 7.2 in they players section, and do not speak about one click album
Can be good ,cause until know was still the possibility to have a juke box with one click download=RealJukebox. Now only FreeAmp who is only a player.
But i do not feel any good news coming about Emusic in the near future.........
listening to the last song i got from Audiogalaxy
neo-nazi french skinheads mind you
Listening to: '9eme panzer symphonie - Panzer Krew' on Media Jukebox

Hi Guys,
I've just tried a single file download. Same story. So, I tried it again with GetRight. Looking at the transfer details, they use now the same technics as MP3.com. They want to authenticate who's downloading, which is their good right. But they have to supply the technical details to Tool Suppliers like JRiver in order to make this possible.

Please report back your results.

Claudio

Working as well for me-thank you
I do not understand why they changed it.At mp3.com,you can use any download manager
If you can tell me all about this new thing....thank you
Do you think we will see something good\better in the next weeks concerning Emusic or not?
me=no
-
Doesn't work for me. Confirmed using 300. Same error message/s.
-
Belay that. Seems to work fine with Mozilla 1.0. IE 6 no for some reason.
-
IE 6 only works if you allow the cookies for emusic.com
Ruud
-
Installed 8.0.300. Cookies allowed. Still can't do album download at EMusic either in MJ or FreeAmp. Contacted them to see what's up. Restricted to single file downloads.

Here is temporary solution, we will release new build with a fix later today.
What you need to do is to disable browser integration, the option is located under Settings menu.
Regards,
Nikolay

Thank you JRiver for fixing this so quickly.

Download Manager still does not work with eMusic. I've been waiting over a week for a respose from them before posting to this thread, here it is:
Hello,
We really apologize for the delay in our response! We are
currently experiencing very high email volumes.
What operating system and browser do you use?
1.) Your account is current and currently in a 3-month subscription. I just checked your account and it is working.
Your most recent billing was on 6/26.
2.) Currently only Zinf (formerly Freeamp) and RealOne will work
with our full album downloads.
This really sucks. And now that I've posted this I'm going to reply in red to eMusic.
-
gvag,
What build of MJ are you using? Try the one from our downloads page, then post your system info here from MJ Help.
It does work now. We made a change when they changed their protocol. But you need the right version of MJ.

Here's my the relevant part of my last message to eMusic:
Mike - problem solved. MJ now downloads with no problem. Egg on face. On the old server I used to right click the "Entire Album" button and select "Save with Download Manager" because I didn't want to risk triggering RealOne starting up on my system and messing with my Startup settings and file associations. The people at MJ said they had fixed the problem, so after trying everything else I decided "what the hey" and left clicked on button and Download Manager and everything ran fine.
Some of us are slower than others
, oh well.
Thanks
-
Good news. Thanks. I hope you also let them know that freeamp wasn't the only player that could do album downloads.
