Title: New 5th generation Ipod Nano problem

Hi everyone,

My dad has just gotten a used ipod nano 5th generation. I want to set up Media Jukebox to sync his ipod, because I despise itunes, and his old computer can't really handle it anyways. So right now I'm having a few problems, but couldn't seem to find the answer after searching around on the forums. I'm pretty sure it's something really basic, but still can't figure it out:

• I can't seem to format the ipod the remove all the old music on it
• I've tried syncing within the remaining space on the ipod, which seemed to work. However, the ipod doesn't recognize the files I synced to it. Is it possible to convert files in aac or apple lossless, or any other format JRiver does that will work on the ipod?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
