Newbie here. I searched the forum a little bit but couldn't find an answer. I need a new sound card, is it better to get an external one?

What are you going to be using it for? 2 channel only, 5.1, 7.1 or something else?

What is you budget?

What are you trying to accomplish? System configuration, etc.

Any more information would help people to help you.
