Title: Make Mouse Buttons , Change Track back and forward!
Post by: Magoo on October 10, 2010, 11:15:37 pm
One Feature I really miss from Foobar, It the ability to change to the next track or previous track, by using my mouse's forward and back button's.

Is there a way I can make this work with Media Center 15?  Foobar does this by default! Also is there a way for it to recognize cover art , with names other than folder.jpg,  ie. cover.png

Thanks
Magoo

For your first question, I'd use Eventghost paired up with MC core commands.

I think Bryan's advice is good.

Forward / back navigation is a standard construct of our software, of Windows, and also of mice.  If you want custom behavior from standard mouse buttons, it might be easier to use Eventghost or your mouse software.

For cover art, look in Options > File Location > Cover Art

OK In option's  " in the same folder as the files " is checked ,but it does not recognize cover.jpg or cover.png , How can a make a list of files that it will recognize in the Same folder as the music files ? Seems like it can only recognize folder.jpg?

Would like to add a few more filenames:
cover.jpg
cover.png
and have it still recognize folder.jpg

Havent tackled the mouse problem yet!

We support Folder.[any image format] or [Artist] - [Album].[any image format] for sidecar artwork.

What software uses Cover.jpg?

Thanks.

in foobar, You just make a list of names you want it to recognize as album art. In the same directory....

I had mine set to recognize and display.

Cover.png
folder.jpg
cover.jpg
art.jpg
art.png

I know you are gonna say just rename them but there certain reasons I just can't well I could but i would have to copy them over to another folder. Taking up lotsa HD space.

As far as the mouse things goes, Since foobar does it automatically because its a normal windows event, would it be hard to add it to the program , would be soo handy to just open MC15 and hit forward and back on the mouse to skip a song , that I dont like :)

You can do a manual Cover Art > Quick Find and it will associate with any single image file in the album folder.

Don't think that eventghost  likes windows7 x64, On my mouse I have the 2 buttons set to forward and back (default). Logitech Performance MX, using  Newest Version of there Setpoint software. Any easy way to even jut get my forward buttton to skip a track?

Thank for your help guys!
