Title: Added a SATA DVD-ROM - VIDEO doesn't wake up now
Post by: maxxsid on October 21, 2010, 07:08:39 pm
Hi,
Strange problem. Maybe someone know how to fix.
Windows XP SP3
Gigabyte Ga-EP35C-DS3R with Intel E8400 CPU.
All worked fine until I replaced a PATA DVD-ROM with SATA DVD-ROM.
SATA is in AHCI mode
The board has 2 SATA controllers
-- 6 ports are Intel
-- 2 ports are Gigabyte
(they require different drivers and they all do work)

I had 3 hard drives connected to the Intel ports.
Everything worked just fine - the system would go to sleep and wake up OK.

Now, if I connect the new SATA DVD to one of the remaining Intel ports, the system wouldn't fully wake up - it runs but the monitor stays black (no signal), sometimes it wakes up but I cannot click anything - the mouse moves but nothing responds.

If I connect it to one of the Gigabyte ports everything works OK.

I find it strange and was not able to fix it.

Any ideas?
TIA!
