Title: 96k high rez files playback problems
Post by: Jeff Schulman on November 04, 2010, 01:14:22 pm
Hi, I am running windows 7 on a high powered ASUS netbook, J River latest rel 15 beta, WASAPI with all standard J River options based on Ayre and computer audiophile setup instructions, Ayre QB-9, high quality after market 2 meter USB cable.  When I am playing 24 bit 96k hi rez files stored on an external hard drive, J River stops playing - the playback clock (time left in track) stops.  The Ayre still shows 96k on its window.  This problem sometimes happens pretty quickly after I start playing hi rez files, and sometimes only after quite a while of playing these. The only way to fix this is to reboot the computer - J River won't cancel and I can't force a shutdown.  This does not happen on standard rez FLAC recordings.  Any thoughts?  Thanks, Jeff

What is the full version of the MC you're using?  15.0.142 is on the download page.

There are now two different WASAPI choices.  Please try them both.
