When I right click a folder in Windows Explorer and choose Media Center -> Import, how come the sidecar files that MC itself has created for earlier imported files are imported into the library? I don't want those in my library because then the number of files in my library doesn't reflect how many media files I actually have. Is there a reason to have them in the library?
Now I know that once I delete them from the library, they get ignored the next time (unless I choose not to ignore items previously deleted from library), but every time I import a video file a sidecar gets created and then the next time I import that folder the new sidecar files gets imported too. Is this a bug or is it anyway to prevent it? I don't want to disable data support, because then when a video file gets imported as data, which occationally has happened (although not in a while), I can't find them.
I also know I can set the file types to be imported for Auto import, but this concerns when I right click and import from Explorer.

Anyone??

MC sees these files as documents and imports them. I think you are right. We should skip these files.

why not exclude them from the view instead :) or from the topfilter,
-[File Type]=[xml] or similair
i want the sidecars in my db :P

Why do you want the sidecar files in the db? It just makes the db bigger and probably slower if you have a really big db...
