I've read that we can install a Windows OS on Intel-based Apple.
Does that mean we can install MC on a Mac? And use our regular VST plug-ins?
Would MC communicate with Firewire Mac-only devices?

Since there are multiple ways of running windows on a intel mac, the answer is, it depends.
If you dual boot the machine (ala boot camp) there are 2 separate OS's running on it so in that case you'd run MC in windows and it would be like any other windows box.
If you ran parallels (I haven't tried this) you supposedly can run MC in a windows window in the osx desktop.
I have tried running in a windows container in virtualbox on a mac, that works fine for me since I'm mostly using the server features of MC that way. You won't be able to do any 3d visualizations that way however.

Depends on which method you are using. If you are dual booting, probably yes. The exception would be HFS (the mac filesystem) formatted ipods. The windows OS can't access the HFS filesystem without 3rd party apps.

I run Win7 on a Intel iMAc ( with 3 monopolist in one box you can’t be wrong)
I use bootcamp.
These is basically dual boot software.
As one is running Win on a Intel machine, all software works as usual including MC, VST, etc. No difference with a ‘normal’ PC.

I use MC on a number of Macs. Works best under Bootcamp, but the virtual machine applications are getting better and better.
And, yes, Bootcamp is just a fancy bootloader and EFI->BIOS emulator. Win7 on a MacBook is basically no different than Win7 on a Dell.

I've been running MC on Windows inside VMWare Fusion for a couple of years now.

I use Fusion too. Great for music. Not so great for video and Theater View.
I'm excited to try the newer version of Parallels (and eventually Fusion) though. Apparently the new parallels is MUCH faster with media & 3D.

I've installed MC15 on a Bootcamp partition on my new 2.GHZ Core i7 MBP (fast!). I then usually run it as a client to my main HTPC's install of MC15 via Parallels 6. Working pretty well so far, but it's such a new setup, I'm not sure I'm doing everything right. Music definitely works just fine!
