I have a large library of flac files (>100k) and when I scan the library with autoscan, everything works fine initially but in the last 90% or so, the memory usage on the machine shoots up to 2000MB and basically hangs. At this point there is nothing I can do to recover and must reboot. I have 2GB of ram and am running win XP. I have tried rescanning after reboot and though it only has to scan the remaining 10% (the rest are added to the library correctly), the memory usage still shoots up to 2000MB during the scan. Any ideas?

Are you using 15.0.142? It's at the top of this board.

Yes I am using 142

How were the files encoded to FLAC? By MC?
What do you use for antivirus?
Are the files local? Or on a network drive.

Also, could you grab that last few thousand lines of a log (Help > Logging) after a crash and post them?
Often problems like these turn out to be from a corrupted file, and the log will show the files that Media Center was working on.
Thanks.

Great, will post the log shortly. I actually just realized that MC doesn't even have to be scanning for this problem to occur. If I simply open the program and wait for 5-10 minutes, the same exact thing happens (and it doesn't say its auto scanning).
