For some of my M4V downloaded iTunes, only a grey box displays, no audio, but the time-bar tracks. I have file type set to use Quicktime engine. These play great in Quicktime. Newer M4V are working fine. Some are even newer. I thought codecs, so I installed CCCP (standard options). No change.
There is an old post on MC14 which refers to M4V only showing grey box with audio. The conclusion was "its on my list".
Just use Quicktime directly ;D
Any progress?

Hi, if this is a Quicktime issue, perhaps the solution to a problem I was having with MOV files will help: http://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=60430.0

They play just fine in Quicktime.
Interesting ... the Music Videos from iTunes play.
The movies, features and tv shows don't. What could be different? iTunes treating them different?

Probably DRM.
