When I have used it for a while it shots down, says (in swedish) "media center has stopped working" and "look för a solution on line". Well I'm not online where I have my mediacenter so now I've moved it to my desk. What is wrong?
-
Try waiting longer.
What are you doing when it happens?
-
nothing, sitting listening to music
-
Are you playing local files or from a network drive.
Turn off autoimport.
-
local files. Ok, I'll try turning the autoimport off. Where do I find it?
-
To be clear, MC is crashing?
-
Crashing sounds so definitiv to me but it shuts down and I have to start from the beginning. Well i did not run "auto import" from the beginning so it can't be that.
-
Does MC quit and you are forced to reopen it? If so, that is a "crash". People often erroneously use the term crash to refer to data loss caused by an error, but that's incorrect.
If there is an unhandled exception (error) and the application shuts down of it's own accord (with no chance to stop it), that's a "crash".

Ok, thanks for the english lesson :), but what do I do now? My friend told me to uninstall and than reinstall. I think I'll do that. Coulden't hurt could it?
-
That absolutely wouldn't hurt.
If that doesn't seem to solve it, the other best thing to do would be to enable Logging. Go to Help -> Logging, and turn all the logging event types on. Then, run MC and wait for it to crash. Once it does, re-open it and go back to Help -> Logging. You can click on "Previous Log" to view the log file itself. Then you can look through the end of the file. You might be able to figure out what is happening on your own with this info, if it is choking on a particular bad file or something, but otherwise probably not.
If not, then you can probably email the log file to one of the developers here and they should be able to help.

Thanks, glynor, for your time. Yesterday it stopped again but when I had it in my TV-set. But I mannage to save the "wrong message". Well, its Windows 7-related, has to do whith secretess. My friend will help me so I think everthing will be solved to day.

If you don't manage to get it sorted out, come back and show us the message. We might want to see logs as well.
