Quite disappointing. I use PS Audio PerfectWave DAC in pure DLNA mode (pure means that I don't decode in JRiver, I use no conversion and uncompressed stream options). Every setting possible is set to gapless, no silence play, maximum buffering, yada yada... I try 96/24 FLACs, I try CD-ripped m4a files. I try to set gapless play for albums. I tried everything, it doesn't work. It plays nasty silence where it's not supposed to be one. Please help. Thank you.

Are you sure the PureWave DAC can play UPNP gaplessly? Not all streamers can.
-
I might be wrong, but seems like renderer renders whatever server tells it to. So if server says to play gapless then it has to play gapless. I doubt that PS Audio folks missed that feature.

According to http://www.psaudio.com/ps/newsletters/september-2010-ps-audio-newsletter/
■Does not play FLAC at higher sample rates than 96kHz, 32 bits
■Does not play WMA (Windows lossless) at all
■Not ready for wireless directly from the Bridge. Must be connected to an Ethernet cable or wireless Ethernet Bridge
■Does not support gapless play (like playing Dark Side of the Moon as 1 continuous track)
-
FYI though... It should be coming in a firmware update soon:
We felt that the majority of our customers could live with these shortcomings until we upgrade the Bridge to handle them. We expect another release to cover FLAC and WMA in October, wireless and gapless play in November. These updates will be through a one-button push via the front panel.

Unfortunately some UPNP renderers, and servers for that matter, cannot handle gapless replay.
I get gapless replay Using MC as Server sending files back to itself all controlled by PlugPlayer, for wat that is worth.
If you have a decent digital output from your computer maybe use the DAC simply as a DAC until the firmware update is released.

Thank you for all replies folks. I can only confirm that I have the latest firmware and it does play WAVs as well as 96/24 FLACs perfectly fine. My only issue is gapless playback (and there is one more in separate thread I started yesterday). Perhaps I should try to step back to direct USB mode (it supports 96/24 which is good).

Check that...... Mine is acting very strange. It is also not playing gaplessly using Plugplayer as a controller with the same instance of JMRC as both Server and Renderer.
Additionally, when I select "Next Track" or when a song naturally ends, the next song plays for a split second twice before the song starts.
Any ideas why?
I will turn off memory play and prebuffering to see if that changes anything.
Thanks!

Yes, as expected, in USB mode I have everything working perfectly fine. Gapless, full CUE support with all bells and whistles.

I'm having the exact same problem. Anyone find a solution for this?

DLNA is not well suited for gapless playback. PlugPlayer gives us the next file once the current one finishes. It's normally too late for gapless playback at that point.
You might try Gizmo if you have an Android.

Any reason there is no iOS remote? I'm biased of course, but it seems to me a logical control surface for JRiver.

Take a look at WebRemote.

A web interface is no where near as elegant as a native app I'm afraid :(
