I got an issue with 15.0.157 and 158. Some music can't be played (it's working with 15.0.150, no test with version from 151 to 156). When I want to play them it tells "Media Center encountered errors while trying to play the last several files. Please make sure that the path in your media library points to the right location".
With a downgrade to the 15.0.0150 it's working fine (I don't touch my library).

What file types are you playing?
Are you playing from a DLNA server or anything else that's notable?
Thanks.
-
I'm playing mp3's and i'm using the River Media server. No DLNA.
-
I believe you mean "Library Server".
Do you have the same build of MC on both client and server?
Try turning conversion off.
-
Yes i mean Library Server sorry.
I got the same build on both client (testing with 15.0.157 and 158). Even if conversion is desactivated MC can't play some files. I want to insist that everything working fine on build 15.0.150 on both computer.

I've encountered issue only with one artist (Pink Floyd for the story) but not with all albums.
-
If you have a particular file that won't play, please email a copy to matt at jriver dot com. I'm out of the office until Monday, so I might be a little slow to reply.
Thanks.

I've had sporadic problems recently (last couple of months) too. An album not playing one day, but then playing the next. One or two songs from an album being skipped. Always with mp3s. The next time it happens I'll send you the mp3s.
-
After few days with build 15.0.158 (and now 15.0.159, always got an issue) it seems that problem happens only with big discography (more than 3 gb, about 500 files).

I downloaded 15.0.159 last night to both my computers (server and client) running Windows 7. Library Server stopped playing all my WAV music files in two different libraries through the client computer. I receive the same error message the OP (alexphi) mentioned in his original post. I tried a third library comprised of only FLAC files and to my surprise they played just fine...
On the plus side the pause button now works with 159 which it never did before.
Thanks!

I've some new details about issue. It seems that there is also a problem with build 15.0.150 as client (and build 15.0.159 as library server).
The error message show the same thing than before "Media Center encountered errors while trying to play the last several files etc...."
But at the end there is also "Error details: MPEG plugin does not support MPEG layer 1 files"
That's all tonight...

I'm having terrible troubles with Library server playback in 159 as well (clients and server are all on 159)
It was all working well before the upgrade.

Is this the problem?

I've been seeing this more often recently with the last few builds, too. MP3 files randomly will not play on the Library Server Client.
-
I'm also having MC Client playback issues on seemingly random files. All my files are MP3s, and a real mix of attributes (both CBR and VBR, ripped and bought from several online stores).
I've noticed that the track lengths are being misreported as well. I can watch them calculate as the track is loaded, and they vary from a second to a minute or more off.
Server and Client both .159

It seems that build 15.0.161 fixes the issue.
Thank you very much for your great job. :D
