Title: Language used for installation
Post by: Johnny B on December 05, 2010, 06:36:53 am
I raised this topic several times in past already and as I can see MC behaviour still has not changed.
When installing for the very first time MC automatically uses English: would it be possible to pick from all languages (translations embedded in MC) or even better to automatically use OS language?
Please be aware that not everybody understands English and the installation process does ask several fairly critical questions.

The installer will pick English, Spanish, or German based on the settings of the system.

Other languages (which, for the most part, are less complete) must be selected once install completes.

Matt, thank you for your response.

Any chance to alter this approach? For example as for Czech language I believe that all screens / fields used during installation process are already translated...
Actually even partly translated language file (if existing) should be used IMHO whenever possible as it cannot do any harm and eventually may help those non-English (German / Spanish) users.
