Title: Gizmo Problem
Post by: fishingkid on December 09, 2010, 04:13:56 pm
Hey I'm trying to stream music to my Android Phone using Gizmo but it gives me the error
"The was a problem connecting to the server, Please Double-check that you have entered the correct key, and that the server and your connection are working."

I am able to connect over the internet from another computer running JRiver using the access key.
I am not able to connect with my Android phone using wireless or 3G.

I have the HTC Desire Z running Android 2.2.
Also when I click the help button the application crashes.

Thanks

You may need to download MC 15.0.163 from the top of the MC15 board and install on your server.

Also check your wireless connection.

Our wiki has an article on "Network Access (http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Network_Access)".

Ok I have updated Media Center and now I can connect. In Gizmo I tried controlling J River from my phone and it worked perfectly.

Ok but now I want to stream the music from the server to my phone so I try clicking the Home icon where it says tap to change, but it just comes back to the same page.

So now I can only control the server and can't stream music to my phone :(.

Thanks I feel pretty dumb now. But I don't understand how you are supposed to figure that out...bad UI design IMO

Hey!  It says "tap to change".  It doesn't say "tap the house on the left".

Hey!  It says "click here".  It doesn't say "click the house on the left".

Jim, if i can figure out all of my other Android apps without difficulty I would consider this a bad UI design. I'm sure others have encountered this to. You may want to incoporate the use of the menu button. Also why does the program crash when you click help?
