Title: High CPU usage with V8

I am experiencing CPU usages in the mid-60% while just playing MP3 files off my HDD. I have removed other player software but before I did WinAmp was using about 7% for the same task.

I have a 233MHz machine 64Mb RAM and I am running MJ right out of the download (no fancy options or skins).

Can anyone help? I don't want to have to dump MJ 8.0

Are you running visualizations? Mine runs at 100% when I do and about 50% when not.

Do MP3s need a lot of CPU cycles?

Being that I hate the quality of MP3s, I ripped my CDs as WAV files and my usage is at 5% max during playback.

If you are running MJ right out of download you are running it "skinned". Disabling skinning should save cpu load
