A storm for hardy Minnesotans to "enjoy". The fine folks at the weather service left off the over night lows of -9F, -11F and -10F. A good test for my new furnace.

What is irritating is that the driveway needs to be cleared as soon as I'm done clearing it.
Pretty, tho...

Right now, residential streets are iffy. Even if your car is equipped for the snow, and you are a good driver, the intersections are still blocked by others. I had to go get my son at his job. It took about an hour and a half (less than 10 miles). A good part of that was just getting out of my parking space, and another good part was getting blocked by stuck cars, getting out and helping them and then continuing on. And even, once or twice, getting helped out of a stuck spot myself.
I did find out my wife is better at rocking a car out of a snowdrift than I am, cool!!!

As long as I don't have to shovel the snow I love winter storms.
I grew up in Milwaukee Wisconsin and always liked the big snow storms, especially with the lake effect. Here in LA you have to go up in the mountains to be in the snow. And on a clear day you can see snow capped mountains from the city.
-
I'd certainly trade you your snow for our rain.
Right now, we have 6-8 inches on the ground from a variety of different small storms we've gotten so far. It looks pretty, and better yet, the roads are already clear. They're calling for temps in the upper 30's and low 40's tonight and tomorrow, coupled with 2-4 inches of rain, starting tonight.
Tomorrow is going to be a dreary, muddy, horrible, ugly day. Sigh...

I hope all my friends at JRiver are doing OK with the snow storm. Looks like you you really got hit hard. Take care of yourselves.

Thanks. We made it to work today. The piles along the street downtown are five and six feet high. It was zero degrees F at noon today. A nice warm day here.

Glad you are getting though it OK. At least the city has the equipment to deal with it.
