Title: library and application settings for restoring
Post by: kewe65 on January 05, 2011, 03:23:19 pm
i had a hard drive crash recently and in the process of restoring from the back-up files, i noticed that there were some settings that were not restored with the library.

for reference, i copied the entire appdata > roaming > j river folder/contents from the back-up to the new location after i installed 15 on the new drive.

for one, all the auto-import folders were missing and i had to readd them - is this expected or is this setting saved in a different location i can restore from?  also, what about all the files that were removed from the library - where is that stored as i assume these will all be added back in?

the same issue with the Media Network locations that had been added.

i assume there are some files/folders that are in the Program x86 folder, but i'm hesitant to copy stuff without breaking it and having to start all over with an install.

any suggestions?

thanks

If you have a backup from MC15, just restore it and also tick the option to restore your settings.

the last back up is a couple weeks old, so i assumed that by loading the most current library would do the same.  is this not the case or does it require a load from backup?

That would miss the registry entries.
